Dexter's Ready for Action

19 January 2024

Dexter Lembikisa is confident he can settle in quickly to life at Hearts ahead of a potential debut in maroon.

The Jamaica international joined on loan from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers this week and could be in line to make a first Hearts appearance when the men in maroon travel to Ainslie Park on Scottish Cup duty tomorrow.

Hearts square off against League Two side Spartans in fourth round action. Even with the two sides at separate ends of the Scottish football pyramid, Dexter knows the Jambos will need to be at their best to book passage to the next round.

“It’s been cold so far!” he told the media ahead of the game.

“Why Hearts? Because they’re third, play attacking football and are a massive club in Scotland. It’s a good opportunity for me and I’m very excited to get started. Big one at the weekend against Spartans, a lower tier team, but we’ll go into it with the exact same approach as usual.

We’ve had a game and a few sessions now for me to settle in and get used to playing with the rest of the team. I do a lot of 1 v 1s. Attacking. Defending. Quick and powerful.

“I’ll be as quick as possible in getting settled in.”
