Bayley’s Hearts buzz

27 June 2024

Bayley Hutchison has described her Hearts transfer as a ‘no brainer’ after becoming manager Eva Olid’s fist summer signing.

The former Dons striker notched 28 league goals in the Granite City last season and has now swapped red for maroon, penning an initial two-year deal in Gorgie.

“I’m buzzing to be here,” Bayley told Hearts TV.

“Hearts have been so good over the past couple of seasons, it was a no brainer for me when the opportunity came up. I still have a year left at university, so it did have to revolve a bit around that, but Hearts were very accommodating. I’m happy to be here and ready for the season to start now.”

Hutchison admits she’s grateful to Aberdeen, but it’s all eyes on Hearts for the next step in her footballing career.

“I’m very thankful for Aberdeen,” she continued. “They’ve done a lot for me over the years, they’ve made me the player that I am today. Getting that frequent game time at a young age was something that I needed.

“When I got the call from Eva and Sean, it was a no brainer. Their vision for the club, just how much they’re trying to push. That’s something I want to be a part of and something that inspires me to push forward.

“I like how Hearts play. It suits how I want to play. I want to push myself and go into that full-time role, so I’m impressed with what they’ve done, they’ve invested well, they’re pushing and that’s something that I want to be a part of.

“I want to push myself a wee bit harder and lead from the front. Obviously, I want to score goals, but I think I’ve got a couple of assists in me as well, so just be a team player and help push this team as far as we can.”
