Chomczuk signs first pro deal

09 April 2025

Hearts Women is delighted to announce that 17-year-old Olivia Chomczuk has signed her first professional contract with the club, beginning 1st July.

The attacking midfielder made her debut against Rangers in May 2023 and after making sporadic appearances in season 23/24, Olivia has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign on loan at fellow SWPL1 side Spartans, where she has made 20 appearances for Jack Beasley's side as they look to retain their SWPL1 status.

Recently making the step up to Scotland U19s level, Olivia continues to go from strength to strength and has now put pen to paper on her first professional deal with the club which will see her remain in maroon until the summer of 2027, with the option for a further year included.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

"It's great news. As a club, we always support the Academy, and I want as many Academy players progressing through to the first team as possible.

"Of course, when the players show me that they have that potential to play with us, I'm so open to do new contracts because I want them here forever. And that is what we did with Olivia. She has the talent and she shows that in training and when she plays with Spartans. She's like a different player now and she deserves that contract.

"We know that Spartans, with Jack, they are a team that tries to play and that is what we need. We need them to go on loan to teams that try to play with the ball, because if not, when they come back to us, they cannot follow the team because we play with the ball and they keep developing our players."

Women’s head of recruitment Sean Burt added:

"We’re absolutely delighted to see Olivia sign her first professional contract with the club. She’s a product of our Academy, and her journey is exactly what we aim to nurture: talent, dedication, and progression through hard work.

“Olivia’s loan spell at Spartans was a key part of her development. She showed a great level of maturity and proved she can compete at a high level. That experience has undoubtedly earned her this opportunity.

“This is a proud moment not just for Olivia, but for everyone in our academy system. It’s a clear message to all our young players that there is a pathway to the first team here at Hearts.

“We’ve kept a close eye on Olivia’s progress, and she’s impressed everyone with her attitude and performances. We believe she has a big future ahead of her and we’re excited to see how she continues to develop.”
