Fulton: Ready To Learn

19 June 2024

Ryan Fulton says the chance to work with international class goalkeepers at Hearts was a major pull after completing his switch to Tynecastle.

The former Hamilton stopper called time on his seven-year association with the Lanarkshire club this summer and will now pull on the maroon jersey for the next two years.

Fulton joins a strong goalkeeping department at Hearts with Craig Gordon and Zander Clark, under the watchful eye of coach Paul Gallacher, all driving each other on ahead of the Jambos’ return to action.

“I’m really happy to be here and looking forward to the challenges ahead. I can’t wait to meet the boys and get started,” he told Hearts TV.

“After seven years, I’d done my fair share at the club and was ready for a new challenge. I couldn’t turn down the chance to join a club like Hearts so I’m excited and looking forward to a new challenge.

“One of the biggest attractions coming to Hearts was getting the chance to learn off the two of them. Craig’s been playing for years and still performing at the highest level and Zander’s been flying too. I’ve met Gal a few times as well and know all about him so I’m looking forward to it.”

With a wealth of experience under his belt, and a strong left foot, Ryan revealed what he’s most looking forward to ahead of a box-office season on the domestic and continental front for the Jambos.

“It didn’t take much convincing to get me here,” he added.

“I spoke to Steven and Frankie and they made it a really smooth process. This season’s going to be brilliant, you see the fans here and the place is always rocking. The European nights are going to be special.”
