Girasoli suffers ACL injury

09 September 2024

The club can confirm Carly Girasoli has ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and will be out for the remainder of the 24/25 SWPL season.

Carly has been an integral part of the squad since joining the club in the summer of 2023. A rock in the middle of the Hearts backline, she played a huge part in the side breaking numerous records last season, including reaching a first ever Scottish Cup Final, following her goal in the semi-final victory over Spartans.

Carly has already started her road to recovery and is currently awaiting surgery.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“Carly has been key to our success over the last year. Sometimes, football brings difficult moments, that we all have to deal with, but these moments make us stronger.

“The type of leader Carly is both on the pitch and off it, I have no doubt she has the strength of character to come through a setback like this and she will know that we will all be with her every step of the way.”

We’re all with you Carly!
