Jardine checks in

30 June 2024

Hearts Women is delighted to announce the arrival of Kayla Jardine who has joined the club on a three-year deal.

Formerly of Rangers, Kayla had a productive campaign on loan at Motherwell last season, where she scored nine goals and bagged nine assists during her time in Lanarkshire.

A versatile attacker, Jardine is capable of playing out wide, or as an advanced midfielder. The 19-year-old Scotland youth internationalist becomes the Jambos’ fifth summer signing as Eva Olid continues to build her squad ahead of what promises to be another exciting campaign.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“Kayla is a fantastic young footballer, and her domestic form last season is something that attracted us to her. Watching her at Motherwell, it's clear that she possesses real quality in possession and has a lot of energy out of possession. This equates to her having a lot of potential.

“She is capable of playing in a number of positions, which for someone so young, is rare. Despite her age, she has great domestic experience, which is a great thing for the team. I’m looking forward to working with her and I hope she continues to develop and enjoy her football in a maroon shirt.

Women’s head of recruitment Sean Burt added:

“Kayla was a standout for Motherwell last season. Her technical ability was showcased throughout her loan spell with a number of goals, assists and key passes.

“Alongside that, for someone so good with the ball, she also has an incredible work rate out of possession, which is another key attribute we’re targeting.

“She’s a young player, but already has great experience for both club and country, her versatility is another brilliant attribute that Kayla has in her locker and I’m looking forward to seeing her perform for Hearts.”

Welcome to Hearts, Kayla!
