It was an afternoon to forget for Hearts Women and they were beaten 5-0 at Celtic Park on Sunday.
Eva Olid made two changes to the side that defeated Rangers at Oriam on Wednesday night. Charlotte Parker-Smith replaced Rachael Johnstone in goal, meanwhile Megan Bell, ineligible to play against her parent club during the week, replaced Monica Forsyth in midfield.
The Jambos came into this match full of confidence, but they were behind in unfortunate circumstances after just two minutes. Lucy Ashowrth Clifford delivered a deep cross from the left, which looked to be sailing out of play, but came back off the inside of the post and into the net, completely deceiving Parker-Smith.
Hearts had settled into the game after that early mistake, but a ball through the middle of the backline found Murphy Agnew, who kept her cool to slot the ball past Parker-Smith and double the hosts’ advantage.
On the half hour mark, Agnew bagged her second of the afternoon. She again found herself clean through on goal, before slotting the ball past Parker-Smith to add a third.
It was an uphill task for the Jambos after that and they did gain a little more territor. Sade Adamolekun delivered some good corners, which Celtic stopper Kelsey Daugherty did well to punch away.
There was a triple change at the break for Hearts, but there was no stopping the home side, who were ruthless in front of goal and after a mix-up in the backline, Tash Flint slammed home goal number four.
Agnew bagged her hat-trick on the hour mark, latching on to a long ball from Caitlin Hayes and once again, it was a smart finish past Parker-Smith.
Hearts continued to work hard and they nullified Celtic for the last half hour, but the damage was done early doors as Celtic took all three points.
