Musa becomes fifth summer signing

24 June 2024

Hearts have completed the signing of imposing Spanish forward Musa Drammeh.

The 22-year-old joins the Jambos on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance and Scottish FA approval, following the expiration of his contract at La Liga side Sevilla.

A pacey, direct attacker, Musa stands at 6ft 2’ tall. Comfortable on the wing or leading the line, he came through the ranks at Catalan outfit CE Mataro before moving to Extremadura in 2020, where he gained experience playing in the Copa del Rey and the third tier of Spanish football.

He caught the attention of La Liga stalwarts Sevilla and in January 2022 made the move to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium.

Assigned to Sevilla Atletico, the club’s B team which launched the careers of Sergio Ramos and Jesus Navas, Musa’s 10 goals in 32 appearances helped the team to 1st place in the Segunda Federacion last season and, with it, promotion to the third tier.

Born in the Barcelona region, he holds citizenship for The Gambia, but Musa will now call Gorgie home for the next three-years as he gets set to pull on the famous maroon jersey at Tynecastle Park.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Head Coach Steven Naismith said: “Musa is an exciting young talent with loads of positive attributes.

“He’s quick, physical and direct, and he’ll offer us something different going forward.

“He’s got a real appetite to learn and we believe we can help develop him into a top player.

“We’ve got real competition in our forward areas now and the experience in there is something Musa will be able to lean on, which will allow him time to settle.

“I’m sure he’ll fit into our group really well and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
