Back by popular demand, ‘What’s in a Name’ focusses on the very beginning - the stories and myths surrounding the naming of Heart of Midlothian Football Club, and the last chance to have a look at our out-going exhibition - ‘What's in a Name?'

An exciting and unique collaboration between Hearts Heritage, the Edinburgh Museums Collection and Abbotsford House (the home of Sir Walter Scott), the exhibition displays objects related to the story of the naming of the Club.  Exploring the origins of the name ‘Heart of Midlothian’ and the significance of the cobblestone mosaic on the High Street, the exhibition also sheds light on the first teams and matches of the early years.  In February 2025, this exhibition will be dismantled to make way for a brand-new exhibition.

Hearts Historian David Speed, and Heritage Tour Guides Jim Paris & Bob Christie bring the myths and legends to life with an evening of storytelling and live Q&A as we explore some remarkable tales from the early years of the Club.
