Neil: We're ready for Staggies visit

14 March 2025

Neil Critchley says Hearts are “ready to go” for the visit of Ross County to Tynecastle Park tomorrow.

The Jambos return to league duty after securing a Scottish Cup semi-final spot last with a 3-1 win over Dundee.

The Staggies come to Gorgie on Saturday afternoon and the Head Coach is anticipating a tough test as the boys in maroon focus in on reaching the top six before the William Hill Premiership split.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Neil said; “Yeah, super, super important game for us. Ross County are in good form aren’t they, they’ve won three out of the last four games and we know what to expect from them.

“They have a settled way of playing, very consistent and they have threats at the top end of the pitch that you know, you look at Hale, look at Phillips, White, Chilvers, you know they've got ability at the top end of the pitch.

“They've got a settled back line and we know it's a really important game and a tough game for us.

“We're in good form, we go to take the game to the opposition like we always do, we're at home and yeah we're ready to go.”

Although tomorrow’s squad will remain largely unchanged from last week’s victory against Dundee, Neil admits he has two big decisions to make over the fitness of two players.

“Not too many alterations from last week against Dundee,” he said. “We have to make a decision on whether we think Jamie McCart will be fit and available.

“Cammy Devlin has trained all week, so again we just have to make a decision whether we think he's done enough training this week, having missed about four weeks, to see if he's going to come back into the squad.”
