Pollock's new deal and loan move

19 September 2024

Finlay Pollock has agreed a new two-year contract with Heart of Midlothian that will keep him at Tynecastle Park until the summer of 2026.

The talented 20-year-old will immediately join William Hill Championship side Raith Rovers on loan until the end of the season, with the club holding an option to recall in January.

Since joining the academy as a child, Finlay has since graduated and made appearances for both the first team, and the B Team in the Lowland League, making his senior debut for the Jambos in the penultimate game of the Championship winning season of 2020/21

Despite struggles with injury that has curtailed his appearances tally over the previous two seasons, he’s since returned to full fitness and heads to Fife to add more first team minutes under his belt.

Speaking the Official Hearts Website, Head Coach Steven Naismith said: “Since working with Finlay at B Team level, I’ve been highly impressed by not just his ability, but also his attitude.

"Finlay’s desire to work his way back to full fitness reflects that attitude. I’m delighted that he’s committed his future to the club.

“The next step for Finlay is to gain regular minutes at a high level like Raith Rovers, by training well during the week and putting in good performances on matchdays. I fully expect Finlay to be pushing for a place in our first team in the near future.

“We look forward to welcoming him back to Tynecastle having had good competitive minutes.”

Good luck at Stark’s Park, Finlay!
