Rowles makes MLS move
15 January 2025Kye Rowles has left Heart of Midlothian to join D.C. United.
The Australian defender makes a permanent move to the MLS side for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
26-year-old Kye was a June 2022 arrival at Tynecastle Park from A-League outfit Central Coast Mariners.
With 103 appearances in maroon, and one goal, Kye joined a select group of Hearts players to feature at a World Cup when he represented the Socceroos at the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar, and helped the Jambos achieve back-to-back European finishes.
He now continues his career in the United States, with Head Coach Neil Critchley wishing him all the best.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, Neil said; “Kye has been a fantastic servant during my time here and, indeed, over his entire two-and-a-half-year spell at the club.
“While we’re obviously sad to see him go, it’s a good deal for him and it’s a good deal for the club so he goes with our thanks and our best wishes.
“As with one player leaving, it presents an opportunity for someone to stake a claim to fill that position within the team.
"I’m confident we have the personnel to step in to the team who, of late, have been performing well defensively.”
