B team start life in Lowland League at Ferguson Park

The Jambos' B side are scheduled to host the Black & Gold on Saturday, July 23rd at their new residence of Whitehill Welfare’s Ferguson Park.

Three days later they travel to face Spartans before an away fixture with East Kilbride on July 30th.

A full fixture list can be found below. Please note that all fixtures are subject to change in the event of clashes with Whitehill Welfare’s schedule.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, CEO Andrew McKinlay said: “We’re delighted to be able to take our B team’s games to Ferguson Park.

“Whitehill Welfare have been extremely welcoming and I’d like to thank them for their cooperation as our two clubs forge a new working relationship together.

“I must also place on record my thanks to the Lowland League for admitting us into their competition. This is an exciting moment in time for Hearts and we feel strongly that our participation in the Lowland League will help us immensely to develop the young talent that comes through our Football Academy.”

Sporting Director Joe Savage said: “We identified Ferguson Park a while back as a potential venue for our B team and, having visited it and entered into discussions with Whitehill Welfare, all parties were happy to come to an agreement.

“We see real value in our B team playing senior football every week, which is why we pushed so hard to gain entry into the Lowland League and we’re very grateful for being accepted into it.

“There is now a new opportunity for our young players to both progress and impress, and we’re delighted that the Lowland League and Ferguson Park will provide them with that platform.”

Meanwhile, Ferguson Park will play host to the B team when they meet Whitehill in a friendly match on Saturday, July 2nd. Kicking off at 2pm, entry is £5 with Under 16s going free. Fans can pay at the gate or buy tickets in advance by clicking here.
