Eva Olid on Spartans 0-2 Hearts Women

15 December 2024

Eva Olid admits that her Hearts side had to battle to get a 2-0 win over Spartans at Ainslie Park on Sunday.

The Women in Maroon had a quick fire start to the match, after midfielder Sade Adamolekun slotted home to make it 1-0 two minutes in.

In the second half, Adamolekun got her second goal of the afternoon to make it a brace, helping to seal the three points for the Jambos.

Speaking to Hearts TV at full-time, Olid said:

“We’re not used to playing against a low block and they were so well organised in defence, it was difficult to find the space and find a free player. We had good moments, but other moments that were a little flat.”

“It’s strange that we scored in the second minute and we needed a lot of time for the second goal, and playing good football but without the chances we had to create.”

Olid praised Adamolekun’s performance, noting that Ainslie Park has been a good hunting ground for her previously.

“We know she is a top player on the ball especially,” she continued. “Last season she scored two goals here too, and gave us the win today in the same way. She’s an important player for us and today she was really good.”

The manager spoke about their next fixture against Motherwell on Sunday 22nd of December at K-Park.

“We cannot relax, we have to be at 100%. Playing away is difficult especially, so we need to be focused next week, work hard at training and be ready.”
