Fox Disappointed not to take three points
07 October 2023Hearts B manager Liam Fox admits he is disappointed after the Wee Jambos weren’t able to hold on for all three points at Newtown Park.
Makenzie Kirk bagged a hat-trick on the day, but it wasn’t enough as Michael Travis’ late header ensured a share of the spoils.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website at full-time, Fox said:
“In the first half, I thought we were excellent. Very fluid. We passed and pressed very well and we managed to score two goals. We probably should’ve scored a couple more as well.
“We knew the second half was going to be different. So I’m disappointed with the goals we lost, especially having got back in front at 3-2.
“This is the beauty of this league though. The lads will face different challenges every week. Bo’ness got the ball forward and into our box quickly.
"It’s a huge learning curve for them. We’re naturally disappointed to have been in front and get pegged back but just in those wee moments we let ourselves down today.
“We concede a free kick and we don’t deal with it well. Those our the moments we need to learn from, so next time we’re in that position we will hopefully deal with it a lot better.”
