James Wilson says he’s just enjoying playing his football as the big games continue to come thick and fast for the men in maroon.
The 17-year-old continues to enjoy a breakthrough campaign and playing up alongside Elton Kabangu and Lawrence Shankland, Wilson says he’s learning a lot from his strike partners.
Speaking to the media ahead of tonight's Premiership match against St Mirren, Wilson said:
“Recently I've been playing a lot, so at the start of the season, if you told me where I am now, I'd be really happy, just enjoying the football.
“At the start of the season, we didn't win as many games as we wanted to, so recently having picked up the points and getting that good run of form, it's been enjoyable to play in. I guess, just trying to add more goals, Elton is scoring a lot, we're doing well, so I'm quite happy at the moment.
“I think we're working really well together. Us three really have a partnership at the moment, and I know what they want to do when they have the ball, and what I need to do to help them, so yeah, it's working well.
“In training we have regular chats, the coaching staff, us three, we'll talk a lot about what we want each other to do, so yeah, we work on it.
“Yeah, I mean, it's a good sign of confidence for me, I guess, you see the amount of goals Elton score and how good a player he is, Lawrence speaks for himself, these guys are top-quality players, so the fact that I'm playing at this moment is really good.”
