Toby: Hard work will pay off

27 October 2023

Toby Sibbick believes a week of intense work on the training pitch has set Hearts in good stead for Sunday’s trip to Ibrox.

The Jambos face Rangers on cinch Premiership duty, eager to put to bed the disappointment of last week’s defeat to Celtic.

And after a positive week working on their gameplan, 24-year-old Toby thinks he and his teammates can head to Glasgow in a positive frame of mind, looking for three points.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Toby said; “It’s been a good week of training so far and we just need to take it into the game on Sunday.

“We’re going to be playing away and at times we need to frustrate them. When we get the ball we need to play and show them that we can play and we’re here to win the game, not just sit back and defend because we got the quality in attack to really hurt teams. That’s what we want to do.

“We need to be more on the front foot, trust ourselves and trust in our ability that we can go to these places and pick up three points.

“We’ve done a lot of defensive work in terms of structure, shape, when to press and when not to press. I think that can help us going forward into Sunday. Hopefully we can show a better defensive structure and get a good result there.”
