Wilson leads Scotland call-ups
11 March 2025Scotland will have double Hearts representation after Craig Gordon and James Wilson were named in the national team squad.
The Jambos duo will be part of the Men’s A squad as they bid to overcome Greece in this month’s UEFA Nations League play-off.
James’ call up marks his phenomenal rise to top level football in his maiden season with the Hearts first team.
The Hearts Academy graduate, who recently signed a contract extension at Tynecastle Park, has notched six goals this campaign, including an Edinburgh derby leveller and he became the youngest goalscorer in UEFA Conference League history when he struck against Petrocub back in December.
The 18-year-old is joined in Steve Clarke’s squad by Scotland stalwart Craig, who proudly boasts 79 caps. Another appearance would see Craig move up to joint-third, alongside Darren Fletcher, in the all-time Scotland Roll of Honour.
Scotland face Greece in Piraeus on March 20th before hosting the former European Champions at Hampden Park three days later. A victory for Scotland would see them retain their League A status.
