Zander commits future to Hearts

15 January 2025

Heart of Midlothian is delighted to confirm that Zander Clark has signed a contract extension.

The Scotland goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, which will keep him at Tynecastle Park until 2027.

32-year-old Zander joined the Jambos back in September 2022. To date, he’s featured 68 times for the first team, keeping 24 clean sheets.

He played an integral part in helping the boys in maroon to clinch third place and European football last season, and his form was rewarded with a place in the Scotland squad for the EURO 2024 finals in Germany.

With his future pledged to the Jam Tarts, Zander will now continue to vie with Craig Gordon and Ryan Fulton for the no.1 jersey, giving Head Coach Neil Critchley a plethora of options between the sticks.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, he said; “It’s fantastic news that Zander has committed his future to the club.

“It can be challenging for a goalkeeper when they’re not playing but Zander trains at 100% every day, he’s supportive to his teammates and he’s a big part of our plans going forward.

“To have three top class goalkeepers competing with each other is a good thing for the club and I’m delighted to get the opportunity to continue working with him beyond the end of this season.”
