Ashleigh Williams joins Jambos

04 February 2025

The club is delighted to announce the arrival of Ashleigh Williams who joins on a deal until the summer, subject to visa approval.

The striker arrives as a free agent having previously spent four seasons at US College side Texas Tech Raiders.

During her time with the Raiders. Williams scored 37 goals in 84 appearances and was named in the all-conference Team of the Year for 2023 and 2024.

Now Ashleigh journeys across the pond to join Eva Olid’s side for the second half of the campaign.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“We were keen to add another striker in this window, but in particular, someone with Ashleigh’s attributes. Not only is she a goalscorer, but her all-round play is fantastic.

“We know having come from college football in America, it’s a physical league over there, so I think she’ll adapt well to Scottish football.

“She is a character and has a big personality. She is determined to drive standards, not only of herself, but her teammates also, so I’m confident she’ll have a positive impact on the group.

Women’s head of recruitment Sean Burt added:

“It’s a real coup for the club to attract a player the calibre of Ashleigh. She has a fantastic goalscoring record for a top university, which just shows how attractive the club and project is to players.

“This is a market we’ve utilised before with great success and I’m sure the likes of Sade and Jackie will help Ashleigh during her settling in period.

“Ashleigh has played on big stages in the states and received numerous personal accolades. She sets high standards, and I believe she will have a great impact on the squad.”
