Broadrick joins Jambos
01 July 2024Hearts Women is delighted to confirm the signing of Jess Broadrick who has signed a two-year deal at the club following her departure from Aberdeen.
The 19-year old has already amassed 24 caps for Scotland across U15s, U17s and U19s, so brings a wealth of experience to Tynecastle having also made over 120 appearances for Aberdeen.
A central defender by trade, Broadrick has chosen the Jambos as her next destination, becoming Eva Olid’s sixth summer signing, penning a deal until the summer of 2026.
Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:
“It’s no secret that with the huge loss of Georgia Hunter, we’re now short in the defensive area of the pitch. However, it was somewhere we’d identified that we'd like to strengthen prior to the window opening regardless.
“Jess has a lot of qualities which I like. She’s strong, fast and aggressive and at the age of 19, it’s rare to possess all of them so soon. Now we want her to be in this environment and go to the next level.
“She’s extremely versatile and again, for a player so young, that’s a rare attribute to have. She will add serious competition in all areas of our defensive third and I’m looking forward to working with her.”
Women’s head of recruitment Sean Burt added:
“At 19, Jess already has a lot of experience domestically and possesses fantastic attributes.
“Having watched Jess last season at Aberdeen, she was constantly trying to build through the thirds. It's clear that she enjoys that part of the game and had that intention to play football in difficult situations.
“That intention is something that Eva speaks about regularly. So, with Jess having that experience already, this will immediately stand her in good stead at the club. I’m looking forward to seeing her development continue here at Hearts.”
Welcome to Hearts, Jess!
