Greenwood pens first pro contract

28 May 2024

Hearts Women is delighted to announce that Brodie Greenwood has signed her first professional contract with the club until the summer of 2027.

The midfielder joined the club last summer after leaving Aberdeen, and following a productive pre-season with Eva Olid’s side, she joined Dundee United on loan for the remainder of the 23/24 SWPL season.

Brodie was a key player in United’s fight for survival and with her final act in Tangerine, scored the decisive goal in their playoff victory over Kilmarnock, which saw them maintain their top-flight status.

Now, the 17-year-old is following in the footsteps of teammates Jessica and Erin Husband by pledging her future to the club and signing a long-term contract at the club.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, manager Eva Olid said:

“We’re delighted that Brodie has agreed a new long-term contract at the club. She is one of a number of talented young players we have at the club right now.

"We knew when we signed her last season, she was a player with a lot of potential and now, she has had a season on loan at Dundee United, where she has gained regular first-team football in the top-flight.

“She has all the right attributes to succeed. She is always smiling at training and is just a great person to have in the group, both on and off the pitch. I look forward to welcoming her back for pre-season as she continues her development with the club."

Women’s Head of Recruitment, Sean Burt added:

“Getting Brodie secured on a long-term contract was a no brainer for us. You can see in training that she has a lot of potential, but that was why we signed her last summer.

“For her age, she already has a lot of experience in the game, both at club level and on the international stage. Her loan at Dundee United has proved very productive and I have no doubt that it will stand her in good stead as she returns to us for a productive pre-season.”

Congratulations, Brodie!
