Ross staying put

10 June 2024

The club is delighted to announce that Mackenzie Ross has become the latest youngster to pledge his future to the club by signing a new contract until the summer of 2026.

Mackenzie featured 28 times for the Wee Jambos in a productive 23/24 Lowland League campaign, notching on four occasions.

Ross has been with the Jambos since 2019, after joining from Salvesen. Featuring  predominantly on the right for the men in maroon last season, he is a versatile player and is capable anywhere across the front four.

The 17-year-old joins Kenzi Nair, Gregor Crookston, Bailey Dall and Kai Smutek, who have all recently extended their stays in Gorgie.

Speaking to the Official Hearts Website, B-Team head coach Liam Fox said:

“It’s great news that Mack has signed this new contract. Like I said with Gregor Crookston recently, it has been hard for the wingers, as we have a lot of competition in that area.

“Mack has shown a good attitude this season to force his way into the starting line-up, towards the end of the season and like every player, that experience of Lowland League football will put him in good stead moving into next season.

“Next year is another good opportunity for Mack and for the rest of the squad to impress and the best way to do that is by first of all, performing to a high standard in training and then making an impact in games.”

Congratulations, Mack!
